Austin Thomas Walden Photograph Collection, 1915-1965.

Family photographs and images that highlight A..T. Walden's career as a civic leader and attorney. Family photographs consist of images of Walden, including some taken during his military service. His wife Mary Ellen, and grandchildren are also featured. The focus of the remainder of the collection is on Walden's career. These photographs include Walden with organizations he belonged to such as the Butler Street Y.M.C.A. and the Conference of Southern Democrats. Also in the collection are photographs of events, including an image taken during one of the "Sibley Commission" hearings on Atlanta public school desegregation in 1960. Some events are unidentified, but feature Mayor Ivan Allen, Jr., Banker L.D. Milton, the Reverend William Holmes Borders, Judge William Henry Hastie, and Robert F. Kennedy. Other material includes photographs of some of Walden's legal clients and images surrounding their court cases.
